What range of skills does EarStrainer cover?
Everything from music fundamentals through 20th-century tools.
How much does it cost?
We strive to make EarStrainer as affordable and accommodating as possible. Most commercial Ear-Training programs will set you back $100 or more. EarStrainer is a subscription-based service. In other words, you only pay for the duration that you think you will actually use.
Prices vary depending on the subscription duration. See more about pricing.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards. All payments are handled securely by PayPal.
Is there a demo or trial version available?
Yes, a few classes have a free demo version that provides a sample of the resources available.
What are the benefits of using EarStrainer over any other commercial product?
The main benefits are price and portability. EarStrainer’s subscription-based service costs far less than the major competing programs. For instance, purchasing a two subscription to EarStrainer costs just over $1 a month.
Since EarStrainer is accessible over the Internet, students can access it from school, from home, or anywhere else with an Internet connection. Students are not tied to a particular lab or specific computer.
Do I need any special equipment to use EarStrainer?
Nope. All you need is a computer, an Internet-connection, and some speakers or headphones. EarStrainer is designed to run on 99% of all web-accessible computers. You should not need to download or install any special software in order to access EarStrainer. As long as your web browser supports Flash and Javascript (which almost all browsers do), you should be fine.
I’m an instructor of music theory and I am curious if EarStrainer is right for my students. Could you grant me full access to any classes before I recommend them to my students?
Absolutely. EarStrainer was designed by music instructors for music instructors and their students. Instructors always have free access to EarStrainer. JustĀ contact us. Please also see the documentation on Getting Started – Instructors.
